Photographer Jason Lee arranges real photo shoots for his daughters. And these are by no means monotonous pictures of children in predictable poses. Jason comes up with original adventure stories, the heroines of which are little sisters.
Jason Lee is a professional wedding photographer. He is also the father of two babies - Christine and Kayla. Once Jason's mother, the girls' grandmother, fell seriously ill, and a difficult decision was made to limit her meetings with her granddaughters. It was then that Jason decided to photograph the daily activities of his daughters so that these pictures would please his grandmother at least a little.
At first, the photographs were no different from those found in any family photo album. Later, Jason realized that you can come up with funny stories that will amuse both the grandmother and the girls themselves. So, in 2006, the first Internet posts appeared with photos of sisters and funny captions to them.
The photographer admits that his daughters always inspire him to do something interesting. So it is with new plots for photo shoots: “I draw inspiration from my daughters' games, from their daily activities, from what and how they pronounce … When I get another idea, I think about the scene, put on the light … and then I have a couple of minutes to its implementation,”- says the photographer.
For young photographers just starting out in the profession, Jason recommends practicing as much as possible. “Practice, practice, practice. If you get an idea, write it down so that you will definitely implement it in the future,”the photographer advises. “I first picked up a camera eight years ago, when my eldest daughter was born,” says the photographer, “even then I felt all the benefits of digital photography - you can immediately appreciate the picture. Perhaps, it was from that moment that my journey to “big photography” began.
After Jason posted the photos on the network, the number of orders increased noticeably and, of course, there were people who wanted to take pictures of their children in a similar style. However, Jason is still wary of such requests: “Still, taking pictures of your own and other people's children is not the same thing,” says the photographer.
