“It's hard not to love a city with pastry shops at every turn, where they sell sweets all day to people who never get fat,” says the graphic designer. Susan hochbaum … Guess what city we are talking about? This is Paris. Inspired by delicious cakes, the author has created an amazing series of works Pastry / Paris , In which she combines French sweets with the appropriate landscapes and architectural elements of Paris.
I wonder if anyone before Susan Hochbaum thought that the French capital resembles one big and delicious dessert? However, according to the author, not only the city as a whole, but also every element of Paris resembles a cookie or a cake. Just look: the eclair resembles a subway sign, the cupcake resembles the Louvre pyramid, and the croissant resembles Napoleon's headdress.
“There are five directions in art: painting, sculpture, poetry, music and architecture, and the most important branch of the latter is confectionery,” says Susan Hochbaum with a smile.
Susan Hochbaum graduated from Cornell University - one of the largest and most famous universities in the United States. Has been engaged in graphic design since 1995. Her clients include Estee Lauder, IBM, Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, Polo Ralph Lauren, Saatchi & Saatchi and others. The author has won numerous national graphic design awards.
