“The strength of the rock, its immobility, size, bizarre outlines - all this is inhuman. We feel in them a certain presence that dazzles and frightens, attracts and threatens,”- this is how the famous Romanian historian Mircea Eliade wrote about the mountains. Italian photographer and musician Roberto Bertero cannot imagine his life without conquering mountain peaks, this is his photo cycle. In the pictures you can see the silhouettes of men who have overcome all the difficulties of the ascent and admire the majesty of the landscape.

Roberto Bertero's photocycle is a true hymn to the wild. In the name of her beauty, people are ready to test themselves for strength, because the blissful moment of contemplation is worth long hours of climbing to the top. Picturesque landscapes, photographed far from the usual city bustle, beckon with freedom, purity, boundlessness.

The clouds that form a snow-white featherbed, creeping at the foot, look fantastic: it seems that you can dive in them, plunge headlong or jump, as if on a soft featherbed. Roberto Bertero admits that he seeks to show the greatness of nature, its harsh beauty, because a person is only a tiny grain of sand in the vast world. The photographer realizes that it is impossible to fully convey how breathtaking it is for those who climbed up and looked at the world from a bird's eye view, so his work is just a hint of what a person can achieve, once deciding to take a chance and leave the usual home walls.
