In the filmography of this actress, there are only 19 works in the cinema, including the pictures "The Pig and the Shepherd" and "The Wedding in Malinovka". The name of her heroine Tryndychikha became a household name, but the actress herself was not even recognized on the street. Emilia Treivas, unlike many other actors who starred in the cult film, never became famous. The actress was friends with Marina Ladynina and Lyudmila Zykina, but always refused the patronage of her friends.
From the set to the front
Emilia Treivas was born in 1918 and became the third child in the family of Moses Treivas, a forestry worker, and his wife, a seamstress. Her older brother was an aircraft mechanic, her sister, after graduating from the directing department of GITIS, worked at the Mosconcert as an event director, and her younger brother chose the profession of a pilot.
After receiving a certificate of maturity, Emilia herself worked for a year at the editorial office of Komsomolskaya Pravda and only then entered the Glazunov Theater and Music School, which she graduated with honors in 1941. Ivan Pyriev invited yesterday's graduate to the picture "The Pig and the Shepherd", although the role was very small. And even though the name of the actress later did not even appear in the credits, but she gained not only invaluable experience there, but also a real friend - Marina Ladynina, whose friendship lasted all her life.
Already in early July 1941, Emilia Treivas volunteered for the people's militia. A few months later, she was enrolled in the propaganda brigade of the Siberian Military District, with which she gave concerts at the front for a year. She invariably caused not only applause, but also smiles on the faces of the soldiers, who during the performances of the actress could briefly forget about the horrors of war.
In 1943 she became a member of the troupe of the Central Theater of Transport (today - the Gogol Theater), where she served for 15 years before moving to the Mosconcert. On the stage, she played Evzheni in the production of Shelmenko the Batman, Katerina in The Spanish Priest, Leonora in The Living Portrait, and many other roles.
The first husband of the actress, whom she married in her student years, died at the front, and with the second, actor Vladimir Mamontov, she lived until the end of her days. She worked with him at the Mosconcert, they staged humorous excerpts from performances, sketches and scenes that were popular with the audience.
For a long time, the spouses did not have their own housing, and after that they received a tiny room on Kazakov Street, through which a large pipe passed. Emilia Moiseevna and Vladimir Pavlovich constantly stumbled over her, but it never occurred to them to complain about inappropriate conditions, they were already glad that they did not have to remove the corners. Later they were able to join a cooperative and finally buy a normal apartment in Karetny Ryad. The two rooms seemed to them to be real mansions.
Cinema and life
Emilia Moiseevna began to actively act in films already in 1960. First there was the musical comedy "Maiden Spring", then several small works, and in 1962 the main role in the film by Viktor Eisymont "An Unusual City", where she starred with the wonderful Boris Novikov. In 1967, after several more small roles in films, film almanacs and short films, she starred in the legendary "Wedding in Malinovka". By the way, initially she was supposed to play Gapusya, but the leadership of the State Film Agency insisted on approving Zoya Fedorova's candidacy for this role.
And even having embodied the colorful image of Tryndychikha on the screen, Emilia Treyvas never became famous. There were so many talented actors in the film, each character was so voluminous and memorable that it was very difficult to compete with them. She was never recognized on the streets, but the actress never complained about it, she believed that it should be so. She has always remained a humble person. The actress played only 19 roles in the cinema and voiced the Stove in the popular cartoon "Vovka in the Far Away Kingdom".
Emilia Moiseevna never felt underestimated, did not complain about the lack of demand. She simply lived, infecting everyone around her with her optimism, and did not even allow the thought of taking advantage of the patronage of her more famous friends. Once Lyudmila Zykina invited the actress to work for her to speed up the process of getting the title, but Emilia Treyvas refused, deciding that "everything should happen naturally." She could not even imagine how she could "punch" roles for herself or weave intrigues in order to get her "moment of fame".
Emilia Moiseevna was a very kind and hospitable person, no one left her hungry or left without the attention of a hospitable hostess. She never had a lot of prosperity in her house, but it was always warm and cozy, and for tea there was certainly something delicious.
For all friends for the holidays and anniversaries, she wrote amazing poems filled with sparkling humor. Friends of the actress always waited for congratulations from Emilia Moiseevna, and after that they kept the postcards signed by her for a long time. A kind, sensitive, very tactful actress became the soul of any company, but at the same time she always remained incredibly modest, even somewhat shy person.
In January 1982, she went through a repertoire screening for the highest category at the Mosconcert. Emilia Moiseevna always treated such events with great excitement, worried about how the management would react to her performance. Soon after watching, she went to Marina Ladynina, where the actress became ill. The ambulance arrived diagnosed with a stroke, the actress was hospitalized, but they could not save her life. Emilia Treivas was only 63 years old.
The cult Soviet film "The Wedding in Malinovka", released in 1967, is considered the standard in the genre of musical comedy. Its director Andrei Tutyshkin managed to create one of the highest-grossing films of those times, beloved by the audience. Thanks to good music, dancing, brilliant performance of popular actors and folk humor, the film has become a legend in cinema. A on the set sometimes events unfolded no less fascinating than in the frame.
