In the middle of the 20th century, there was a special, easily recognizable style in the creation of illustrations that bears little resemblance to the modern one. One of the most famous illustrators of the time was Robert McGinnis … And, what is remarkable, he continues to live and work in our time, bringing in him the experience and style of fifty years ago.
Robert McGinnis is a true icon for modern illustrators. This 85-year-old man is in the golden age of American illustration. Moreover, he was one of the creators of this phenomenon, that style in illustration, which is difficult to confuse with something. During his creative career, Robert McGinnis has created more than 1200 professional works. These are posters for feature films, and covers for books and music albums, and advertising images, and simply pictures that are not attached to anything. And he put his hand to the classic pin-up.
With special love, women are portrayed in the work of Robert McGinnis (it is not for nothing that his name is similar to the name of the famous woman artist Ryan McGinness). So, if the picture depicts several men and only one woman, then it is the latter that will be drawn best, in more detail and beautifully, with all her sensuality. And you can understand him in this endeavor to show women as goddesses!
Among the hundreds and hundreds of works by Robert McGinnis, there is also a series of posters dedicated to feature films of the mid-twentieth century. The artist was especially good at advertising posters for action films. For example, it is his brush that belongs to some of the posters of a series of films about the legendary super agent of the British special services James Bond.
And now McGinnis continues to paint. Of course, he no longer works at a film studio - his age does not allow him to spin in this industry. But the 85-year-old's book covers still come out great. And American authors of detective stories are almost lining up for this artist to create a worthy face for their book.

Atmospheric Scandinavian landscapes that bring serenity: Classic artist Arvid Lindström
Landscape realistic painting has always been, is and will be very close and understandable for the average viewer. And the magnificent gallery of atmospheric landscapes by the Swedish classic painter Arvid Maurits Lindström is proof of this.
