Music lovers will surely remember what a sensation Lady Gaga made by appearing at the MTV Video Music Awards in a raw meat costume. But it turns out that the extravagant singer is far from the first who dared to wear such an outfit. And meat is far from the only product from which clothes can be made.
“I'm interested in the connection between a person and what he eats,” says photographer Ted Sebarese, author of the Hunger Pains project. Each model is dressed in a costume made entirely from real food. Bread, pasta, fruit - according to the author's idea, each outfit symbolizes what at the moment the people dressed in it would like to eat.
Fifteen designers headed by Ami Goodheart were involved in the work on the project. The most difficult to execute was the evening dress made of artichokes: it took six hours to create it, and all this time the model had to stand almost motionless. How not to remember here the well-known phrase that art requires sacrifice?
By the way, the shooting of the project took place in January 2009, that is, much earlier than the scandalous release of Lady Gaga. Who knows, perhaps the singer's stylists got the idea of a crazy costume from Ted Sebarese.
