Bryan Berg is included in the Guinness Book of Records as the man who built the tallest skyscraper out of ordinary playing cards. It took only a month for the building to grow 25 feet 9 inches, which was his previous record when he built a tower of maps 25 feet and 3 inches high. Self-taught artist Brian Berg does not use any tape, glue, or other media. This is what makes his craftsmanship amazing.
1,800 decks of ordinary playing cards, 5 weeks of hard work and a balancing tower rose in the showroom. Having a diploma in architecture, Berg is probably the only person in the world who earns his living from such a comic business as building "houses" from cards, making a real art out of it.
For the first time, his grandfather introduced him to the skill of building from maps when the boy was only 8 years old. Grandpa didn't teach him the technique, but he showed him that it can be fun and interesting. Young Brian has always liked puzzles that develop logic and thinking, so card architecture has become a kind of challenge for him. Brian Berg makes no secret of the construction method used. He talks about the technique he uses in Building a Deck: Secrets of the World's Leading Card Architect. The book contains illustrations and step-by-step instructions, with the help of which the author transfers his skills to everyone.
Brian Berg creates buildings from maps of different architectural styles, from classic to artsy, building pyramids, tombs, stadiums, churches, oil rigs, towers and castles.
The card architect is always on tour, showing his construction performance in large cities in the USA, Canada, Japan, Denmark and Germany. Such newspapers as Men's Health, USA Today, Maxim, National Geographic For Kids, Time Magazine for Kids, as well as leading well-known publications in Europe, Asia and South America wrote about his unique skill.
